There is so much information out there, every where regarding what is and isn’t good for us to eat to be healthy.  Each of us are individuals with different dispositions, genetics and basic health.  We at CrossFit Champions ascribe to a few set and basic principles regarding food that have been tested out over 7 years and with thousands of people from all age groups and all walks of life.  The most basic is this…building your daily diet from healthy grass-fed, grass-finished meats, then load up on veggies with some healthy fats thrown in for your body’s benefit and you can’t go wrong. A little fruit here and there and we’re all good.  Everything about your health is built on a base of solid food first.  We supplement to fill gaps and as insurance regarding general health and then kick it up for performance if that’s someone’s interest but the base nutrition has to be there first.  As Matt has always said “It doesn’t do any good to add octane booster to a tank of gas in a car that needs a tune up and tires and basic maintenance.”  Same goes for performance supplementation.  Get your body healthy and then rock and roll!

Chris Kresser has written an article recently that goes over loads of reasons why grass-fed meats trump grain-fed meats.  You can read it HERE.  He does a great job of backing up what he’s saying.  He also has a linked article within this one that talks specifically about the benefits of red meat.  Its the stuff the main stream media doesn’t talk about.  You can read that article HERE.  His blog is a fantastic resource on health and wellness.

Everything that Chris writes about is the foundation of our relationship with Yonder Way Farm.  We were looking for this exact sourcing of meats for our family and our CFChampions community more than 3 years ago.  We just happened to be blessed with Jason and Lynsey Kramer so close and that they do drop locations.  One visit to the farm and an amazing relationship was born!  We absolutely love the Kramers and know you will too!  So read Chris’ articles that explain why what they do at Yonder Way Farm is so important to your health.  Great stuff and wonderful people!  (As always…CFChampions serving as a drop off location for Yonder Way Farm is a service to the surrounding community.  You do NOT have to be a member at our gym to pick up here.) Thanks!
