Hi Everyone! Robert and I are in Austin. We came up Thursday evening before the storm hit and have heard that there is no rush to come home right now. We wanted to say hi and we really hope everyone is ok! We look forward to coming home and seeing everyone! We called the guys at crossfit Round Rock and they were very welcoming and told us to come on in whenever we wanted to, so we are going to workout there this afternoon! We hope that everyone is well, and we will talk to you soon!

Well we came and we went. Just like Ike. Awesome Workout in the dark…..doesn’t get any easier in the dark!!!
    Thanks Matt for opening today!!

I will be there for either the 9am or afternoon workout. Been in Sugarland for 4 days, and was finally able to get to my apartment to asses any damage. If I lived on the first floor I wouldn’t have had a home. Through all of this I’ve said two things: hurricanes are hard on the butt and thighs, and that crossfit will be open because we don’t exactly require electricity and the cooler weather is going to be amazing

WOD Monday(revision) aka Aftermath of IKE

For time 3 rounds or until finish!

    25 pull-ups
    50 Push-ups
    75 Kettle bell swings
    Remove damaged fence
    Remove Tree off of Roof
Put debris by road for pick up!

The work out was great this morning. No electricity. That takes the work out to a whole new level! It was even more fun in the dark, no fans, or music. Just a lantern to keep us company! It becomes even more of a mind game because all you hear is your breath and your heart beat. Taking exercise to primative level. A level that you can not find at the gyms. I hope that other will make it out tomorrow morning for the dark quite workout!

Oh my God…I’m still destroyed from yesterday’s workout. No flooding, no wind damage, got electricity, life’s good, but then…duh, Duh, DUH! 75 KB swings of DOOM!

Just saw your photo in the affiliate blog! Nice message on the marquise. I also like the previous “Leave Your Ego At the Door” and will probably be hanging that sign outside my box in a few weeks. I just saw you email on FGB. I’ll plug it in my box and see what kind of response we get. Later – Grace, CrossFit Sugar Land

  8. Tim M says:

Hey gang, glad to hear the box is open! We still don’t have power but we’re safe & we have no damage to house or vehicles – just a monster mess to clean up.
I’ll swing in for a workout when I can!

I tried to come by and see you guys. I got there too late. Gonna try to come and say hi. We are exhausted and working mandatory 12 hour shifts. I miss my workout like crazy. I feel yucky and like I just let go of everything I have been working so hard for. I am hoping to be there beginning Monday. I am still without power as well.
But on the upside, everyone is healthy and happy. So I really shouldn’t be complaining.

  10. Mike & Tami says:

I came by to check on the gym the morning of the storm. I was glad to see there wasn’t any damage. My team at work is also on mandatory 12 hour shifts. We have been at Reliant organizing and running the fema trucks to the pods. Stressful doesn’t even describe it. We have power and no damage to the house, and everbody is safe. We hope to be in soon we both are missing the torture.

  11. Robert S. says:

Glad to hear CFC survived intact and those of you here endured. We are safe here in Cypress (lots of downed trees), and have power now. Hoping to re-join on Monday. Housing some Galveston family members.
