I love this kind of workout. The novice and the expert do the movements at almost the same speed so it comes down to those little catch your breath, I can’t hold on or go on breaks we all take. I’ve heard them all in my own internal dialogue. So for anyone new, here is some tactics I learned while hiking 25 miles with a full combat load and a 27lb machine gun. It’s not 1 mile down 24 to go. Instead it’s “I just have to make it to the next stop” (4 to 5 miles), or “just get to the top of this next hill”. A large part of conditioning is setting mental milestones. Some can launch into 60 to 200 reps of anything and count by one from start to finish without somehow breaking it down without it breaking you down, you have far more will power and honesty than me. For those of us who acknowledge our limitation of moto (motivation) try slicing the pie into pieces “its almost a quarter of the way done, or if I can just get to half way”, then when you get there push for five more. The point is then two fold and easy to remember this way. 1) Our limitations are mostly mental barriers not physical ones. 2) How do you eat a hippopotamus? One bite at a time.
