I’m wussing out of this one. I really wish this was friday’s workout just because I’m interested in the walking overhead squats but I am completely wiped out. Pooped. Finished. I’m walking like the Michelin Man. Let the taunting commence for my complaints. Do you guys have something interesting like that up your sleeves for friday? I’m liking all the new exercises in the last few weeks.

No more Murph till October/November por favor

  2. James says:

Quick Poll: How many are still recovering from Hurricane “Murph” on Tuesday?

  3. Matt P. says:

    19:42 (45lb)
Yes the shadow of Murph looms large. This workout was like that punk who runs up to kick you after his buddy had pounded you down and walked out. But sore legs and the fact I have to hold on to the wood work to lower myself onto the can, (lady Crossfitters you have my sympathies on the unfairness of this) should not deter you, but instead steel your resolve today. If you subscribe to the philosophy that I do, “Some days you’re the bug and some days you’re the windshield” at some point you must wonder about the motive of the bug; he/she is either too slow, too stupid or maybe just crazy enough to think he can beat the windshield (that’s the bug I love). If pain is weakness leaving the body, I expelled a lot of weakness today.

  4. Buddy says:

Matt & Pam & Laura – thanks for the great nutrition seminar – I learned an incredible amount.

    Aspiring Level 1 (17lbs)
Unable to finish, made it thru 3 rounds and was hurtin for certain. I was really impressed with you guys that could do all 5. I’ll catch up with you eventually.

  6. Tim M says:

Hey James, I’m still recovering. Tuesday’s the 1st time I’ve done Full-Murph & it laid waste to me. But I’ll try to be there tonight in spite of the soreness.

  7. CFCMatt says:

2 rounds – that’s how long it took for the hips to go numb enough to do what I was telling them to do without complaining (excessively).
3 rounds – that’s how long it took for me to be truly grateful to be able to totally lock out my arms and not have the bar above my head be more than a pain in the legs
    5 rounds – 15:43
Afterward you can’t walk normal due to the residue from Murph still in the quads and your rear end threatening to cramp if you get even slightly out of line and it has to actually help. yay.

  8. Sara says:

Matt P: I went to yesterday’s workout and was the bug two nights in a row. I earned this. Where was your name on wednesday night? Yell at me if you did it somewhere else and I taunted you for nothing.

  9. Matt P. says:

Sara, you said “I’m wussing out of this one.” not me. In general I do not workout on Wed. for recovery reasons (I often have less than 12 hours between workouts on Mon and Tues). As to taunting, you said “Let the taunting commence for my complaints”. I don’t taunt, I comment, it’s your conscience taunting you. In all seriousness, listen to the body and use your best judgment, hope to see you soon.

1st round 33lbs and 17lbs thereafter with lots of stretching in between.

I beg of you that the next time Murph rears his ugly head that it’s on a Friday so I have the weekend to recoup!

  11. Sara says:

:-) I’m glad you actually like me most days, Matt P. I’m a little embarassed now lol. Enjoy the evening, all. I’m with Lana on this one. Can I also point out that I’d still take on fran over murph any day? I feel like that comment puts me in a position to have rotten food thrown at me.

  12. Tim M says:

I don’t know about Murph on a Friday – not sure I’d have enough gas in the tank to even complete it. I’m usually pretty pounded/tenderized by Friday evening.

  13. James says:

Tim M – I’ll be there, tattered and torn! Remember, Matt P said it best, “pain is weakness leaving the body.”

  14. Chris McC says:

    17:13 (45lb)

  15. Casey says:

Casey 18:?? I did not think this was physically possible after Tuesday. However, when Matt P. is following you outside to tell you not to do your lunges like “the ladies at Curves” (with a pause in between) you just suck it up and finish strong. Seriously Matt, you are precious. Thanks for the push, I needed it!

  16. TimM says:

    15:37 (45#)

  17. Robert says:

I did this one at home…. It sucked!!

  18. James says:

    45lbs…
    20 something…..

Buddy: Great effort after a tough week, keep it up it gets easier….well actually it doesn’t. See you tomorrow!!!

  19. Buddy says:

Thanks James! It was tough today – I couldn’t hang with you at all – 5 rounds – great job!

As for me and my time… 4 rounds and then I remember Matt and Laura saying stuff and then after waking up I don’t remember the time they told me – I wanted to finish soooo bad – but I guess the 20th burpie on round 4 did me in – and I guess it was obvious to everyone :)

  20. Darlene says:

    17:29 (33# bar)

  21. James says:

Buddy: Burpee’s are something you have to grow into I think…my first few times with them I wanted OUT of Crossfit all together. Keep it up!!! The results you will start to see are huge.

  22. CFCMatt says:

    As prescribed.
