Level III 24:25 (DISAPOINTED)
Definitely of my best times (sub 21min normally) but no excuses and that is saying something if you knew how many I keep in my kit bag. Here’s why in watching just 36 hours of the Olympics I remembered excuses are just lies you tell yourself:
World Champion and Silver Medal Women’s Rowing Single age 38
Gold Medal Women’s Single Rowing age 36
Dara Torres 5 time Olympian 3 Silver In Beijing age 41
One of the medley teammates that Michael Phelps owes gold to age 31
Gold Medal women’s marathon (by over a minute) age 38
Al Orter men’s shot put 5 time Olympian competed well into his forties in one of the most explosive (not exciting) sports.
And finally the Silver Medal in vault in women’s gymnastics, (a sport that for the first time instituted a minimum age of 16). Went to a 33 year old 5 time Olympian and mother of a child with leukemia.
I cannot stop the clock and I will continue to age, but all other factors in my life are a result of the decisions I make and the above listed people have thrown the age excuse under the bus. See you at the finish line.
You know the funny thing is I DREAMT that it was going to be straight running today just because I missed a lot last week. Not even kidding, I dreamt this exact workout.
Was already sweaty head to toe and the small tire needed to be moved so…I added 50 tire flips after the run and plank work after that though I couldn’t hold any position for as long as normal.
Matt- It was awesome getting to meet and talk you. You reinforce everything I believe the CF community is about. I’d already been to your site several times and from the sound of the comments on this post, I need to make regular visits-HAHAHAHA “Hand gestures optional”, I LOVE IT! See ya soon.
Ok I just saw all of your comments to me! Just so all of you know, I finally saw the 400m mark and there were no indians shooting at me (another running nightmare). If you can find my inner runner let me know. I’m still not sure I’m missing out on anything. If I had seen rain in the dream, I might’ve been more inspired! Rowing was pretty damned tedious today and a 3 mile row would have been awful.

Sara,
Did your nightmare mention the rain or the possibility of having to row instead of run? The rower would give me chills, personally.
