It looks like you are a little pressed for space, but I want ot point out the Amrican Flag you have on the wall is hung incorrectly. The Blue field is to hang on our left. Also nothing is to be in front of the falg i.e. the rower that is stacked in front of it.
As a veteran it is one thing I have made sacred. The U.S. Flag is a notch below the bible.

Thank you, Jason, for your input. We really appreciate it.

You have it correct in noting that we are pressed for space. That is an understatement. We, in no way shape or form, intended to incorrectly hang the flag.

I am sorry, also, but it is going to have to stay as is for the time being for two reasons. The logistical reason in our space is that there is no place where it would not have something in front of it or be touched/messed with/etc., inadvertently or otherwise, than in the place it is in now. Turning it around so that the field of blue is correct would prevent the words written on it from being read and they are beyond important to us. That particular flag was a gift from SFC Jim Mahan and it has written on it “Carried by SFC Jim Mahan on 256 Combat Missions in Iraq OIF 05-07”. The dirt on that flag is Iraqi dirt. Jim’s effort in serving our country, his forethought to have packed that flag and carried it everywhere with him, despite the many pounds of gear he was already carrying, and his gift of that flag to us prevents me from taking it down until we have a proper place to display it. I hate to display the flag incorrectly, but I’d hate more not having it up. I will do my best to get it righted, but the rower is in the only place it can go and taking the flag down isn’t an option.

Thank you, again, for taking the time to write.

    Pam
